Yes - that Bill Forsyth when he was a young lad. 1972 promotional film for the Highlands and Islands Development Board about the Outer Hebrides - North Uist, Barra, Benbecula, Lewis, and Harris. Included as an extra on 2014 BFI reissue of That Sinking Feeling on DVD. Can also be found on "A Pride of Islands" DVD. Fairly standard recipe - lots of scenery, various locals doing quaint old-fashioned things, plus some modern bits to prove that the islands are not stuck in the Middle Ages after all, and a romantic commentary with a lot of cliches but no mention at all of the midges. Some excellent photography and worth watching if you like Scottish islands. Rejects green Mk4 Zephyr crossing the screen on Stornoway sea front at 03-42 Rover 2000 - 03-55 in Stornoway Anglia Van - 04-27 in Stornoway Minor Traveller at 17-10 General shots for hardcore experts - everything in each of them is just about identifiable [A] [B] Pictures - no she's not milking a bull - the cows out there have horns -- Last edit: 2018-04-26 01:17:21 |
