![]() ![]() 17 minute visit to Birmingham and Warwickshire. Some excellent factory sequences - Wolseley, BSA, and a bosun's whistle factory amongst many others. Not on imdb or any known dvd, but BFi have posted it on their free player site and on youtube "This film was made for The Travel Association of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with to encourage visitors to come to the Midlands. It was part of a series called Travelling Around - other episodes featured Ulster, the Lowlands of Scotland and London. This video is part of the Orphan Works collection. When the rights-holder for a film cannot be found, that film is classified as an Orphan Work. This is in line with the EU Orphan Works Directive of 2012." More buses as rejects - no idea if they link to some of those posted ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Queen Elizabeth Hospital ("the QE") ![]() ... where I came into the world. "At the outbreak of war in September 1939, Birmingham had as fine a fleet of modern buses as any town in the kingdom". Taken from Link to "birminghamhistory.co.uk" Certainly more comfortable than the boneshakers in London at the time. Birmingham tried 15 AEC Regent 3 Class RT buses with Park Royal bodywork in 1947, but did not buy any more. 'Nuff said? |
