That's what occure when you use something in the wrong way.
Starfighter was a peregrine falcon used as a Milvus (a black kite). Nothing good could emerge from this ...
Imagine a Citroën 2 CV used in a Porsche Cup or a Ferrari off-road.

And flying low level mission with an ejector seat jumping downards :wow:

 from what I've seen they used 2 real F-104 for runway scenes and flying scenes were CGI, and it wasn't bad for a TV movie !!

here statistics

Germany had 916 Starfighters

262 accidents of which 116 pilots killed including the son of the minister responsable for the decision to buy this plane :wow:

 Sadly i throw away the magazine where they wrote about the filming of this movie. But i think i remember they used some real F-104.

According to this report, two real F-104s were used, but both were not operational. Link to "www.tvinfo.de"

Two years ago, ARTE had broadcasted a documentary with a synopsis very similar ...
I'll try to watch this TV movie as not only Starfighters are shown.

One of those accidents I witnessed. Luckily,the pilot lived? (Rheinland-Pfalz/Saarland border....I saw it from Rheinland-Pfaltz,(Neubrucke Kaserne)but I'm not sure exactly where the plane hit...the next town(Nohfelden)in that direction was in Saarland,this was in the summer of 1979.)
