What's this movie about? |
◊ 2007-12-04 04:40 |
I saw this movie this past friday and its about some poor shmuck who stumbles upon a bunch of dead guys at the scene of a drug deal gone wrong. he takes the money and is pursued by a psyco killer (seen in the pic of the fairmont) its a pretty good movie I thought. and I sugest you see it if you get the chance. |

Have to agree, this movie is pretty good, particularly in the film's atmosphere and the performances, especially from Javier Bardem as the psychopathic killer. Some people might be confused by the end of the movie, because it doesn't end like most people assume it would. |

How does it end? |

Check wikipedia. It's best not to give away spoilers here. |

Just on the new: Javier Bardem has got a BAFTA for his role. http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0000849/ |

Good film, although I didn't quite like the way it ended (hope I'm not giving too much away), until the very end I thinking "this is excellent, it should win Best Picture at the Oscars", but then it ended slightly unexpectedly I wish these "stunt endings" weren't so popular these days, like the way The Sopranos ended for example The ending of There Will Be Blood was also a bit bizarre. Call me simple-minded but I like loose ends to be tied up in an ending. -- Last edit: 2008-02-20 23:53:32 |

This film is set in 1980. |

Arent you giving too much saying that |

Quite a few people have mentioned all the anachronisms pertaining to the vehicles, as this movie is set in 1980 while many of the vehicles are 1980+. Anyone catch this rather careless error yet? LOL! |
◊ 2008-02-23 08:22 |
By the way, isn't there also a dark coloured Chevy Blazer or K Series shortbox somewhere in this movie? I think someone could get a decent when Sheriff Bell and his Deputy are investigating the scene on horseback. -- Last edit: 2008-02-25 00:47:26 |

anyone else catch the mid-70's chevy truck in that drug deal gone bad in the desert? -- Last edit: 2008-03-20 02:40:37 |

I watched this scene several times and as far as I can tell, I think they are referring to the very small and blurry vehicle just above the bed of the step-side pickup to the left of Llewely's right arm. I am puzzled how anybody would be able to tell what this is. Maybe this "goof" is a goof itself? -- Last edit: 2008-03-27 21:18:32 |

I don't really see it either. One thing I can tell is a goof is the Carl's Jr. The logo/signs are the modern ones, not the ones used back then. -- Last edit: 2008-03-27 21:36:59 (antp) |

The only car I can identify there is the 1977 Buick Skylark. |

(In a very Homer Simpson-esque tone) My God...This goof IS a goof!!! To be 100% honest, I STILL have not seen this movie so without the pics, I could not vouch for the credibility of the SUV "goof" I mentioned. But when I first saw the vehicle in the pics, I thought it was either an older Jeep Wagoneer or an International Scout Four-Door version. I agree, it is VERY hard to identify it at that range. I originally called it careless. Now, I must eat my words. Hmm...they taste like chicken! Thanks for the Blazer pics by the way! That was the exact shot I was thinking of...friendo... -- Last edit: 2008-04-02 01:50:41 |

I know it's impossible to make a movie perfectly era-accurate but I spotted a Subaru Forester (probably a 2006 or 2007 model) very briefly. It's in the scene where Javier Bardem's character is driving away from Carla-Jean's house. It's beige and parked in a driveway along the street. You see it for only a blink of an eye and then it's gone. |

By gum your right, I was just watching it On Demand and was able to spot it and im going to say '06 to present. Just be careful what you say here. Yesterday I was on set for the cohen bros new movie and I over heard the transportation director bitching about "some stupid site called IMGBB and people complaining about cars" then after that it was a series of mumbles and then he trailed off. -- Last edit: 2008-09-18 06:30:32 |

That's pretty funny. Screw him. He should be glad that someone is taking that much interest in something he's directly responsible for. |
◊ 2008-09-18 16:13 |
Actually it's good that this site is getting some wider recognition! And in a period picture (whether it's set in the 1980s or centuries ago) it's the filmmakers' job to make sure the scenery and props are as accurate as possible. The transportation director is just pissed that people noticed mistakes in his work! -- Last edit: 2008-09-18 16:13:29 |

That's funny that he said so, as G-MANN says its nice to know that the site is getting more well know, even if that's a bad thing for a certain people |
◊ 2008-10-25 07:18 |
I really don't think its the same transportation director. plus mike is a really nice guy so im gonna cut him some slack cuz he does work really hard. |

when Anton Chigurh gets arrested in the beginning, theres a tiny shot of his car, and the grill is visible. what model is it? |
◊ 2008-12-09 06:28 |
I think it's either a 68-69 Fairlane/Torino. |
◊ 2011-06-12 00:56 |
He did a much better job on A Serious Man. As for the anachronisms; anybody else read this book? Even the author seems to forget it takes place in 1980 from time to time. |

What point in the year is this movie set? If it's set in or after September of 1980, all the 1981 MY vehicles aren't anachronisms since that's when next year's cars went on sale. Don't know if it's earlier or later in the year nowadays. |
