Looks like a Dodge (the grey one)

Wouldn't the blue oval make this Ford too knew for the year the movie is set in?

Yes it would jettalover. This is a 1982-1986 Ford Bronco.

The movie studio person in charge of picking the vehicles must not be a car enthushiast.:(

I imagine that all picture car co-ordinators are car enthusiasts. But perhaps it's just not always possible to find the right car.

Well they really made a lot of mistakes with picking cars in this movie. Besides, it can't be too hard to find older vehicles. I want to see this movie, but I'm really disappointed with the anachronisms.

It has both the letters F O R D spelled out on the hood AND the oval and the grille. IIRC the Ford trucks never had both at the same time, 80-81 had letters on the hood and 82-86 had the oval in the grille? This bodystyle was 80-86.

You're right, I guess I missed that at first.

Being a low budget independent film possibly doesn't provide the cash to avoid vehicle anachronisms.

Ford trucks didn't have the lettering on the leading edge of the hood after '81, I think. So, they probably weren't that far off.

this truck has black interior, but in another shot when Llewelyn is opening the door on the 1977 ford f-250, in the background you see the bronco has tan interior

A lot of the years on the vehicles on that site are off. So I don't know if you want to trust them too much.

I wonder how they managed to get all thse cars from pre to around 1980.

Gag Halfrunt UK

They didn't. Some of the cars are younger than 1980.

Actually, in 1982 some did. The same goes for some 1983 Ford Econolines.

Neither had the blue oval logo in 1981, though.

The only thing the early 1982 trucks shared with the 1980-1981 styling is the shift knobs, seat trim, and the mirrors. No 1982 truck had hood letters.

I can't speak for Econolines.

1981. With a 1982-1986 grille. Fender, turn signals, and tail gate indicate 1981 model.
