1953 Rolls Royce featured in Season 1 Episode 32 of “The Outer Limits” science fiction television show called “The Forms of Things Unknown” First broadcast May 4,1964. Rolls has suicide type rear doors and Mark IV rear air conditioning with plastic tubes coming through rear shelf. Small round taillights. Back up light is underneath rear license license plate. Possibly a 1953 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith LWB 'Special'Touring Saloon by H.J.Mulliner. Design 7348. It is a fairly rare H.J.Mulliner design of which only 20 were produced (against nearly 80 of design 7356). It was based on the 'Lightweight'Saloon on the Bentley. This may be the Rolls that was later painted pink and used in the 1964 Shirley MacLaine movie "What A Way To Go. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2021-04-18 01:10:14 |

That reversing light/number plate light is the one fitted to the Bentley R-type Standard Steel Saloons. Presumably the coachbuilder was not beyond using suitable off the shelf bits. |
