This series was filmed at Kununurra and Wyndham in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia near the Western Australia-Northern Territory State Border. |

Excellent series - as good as its parent film, with similar emphasis on desolate landscapes and stunning photography. Seems to be a parched world full of white Toyotas. Some entries added and extra comment pictures/info, but no mains replaced. Planes for impdb |

Some entries added and extra comment pictures/info, but no mains replaced. S2 maybe not quite as good as S1, but still well worth watching. As always, some of the cinematography is stunning, excellent acting, strong story and characters. But some gripes: the archaeological dig is total pants - they've no idea what a dig looks like or how it is done (the famous "professor" would be thrown out of the brownies for some of the "techniques" she uses, but she has magic powers of being able to date a grindstone as 80,000 years old and identify the things it was used for grinding simply by looking at it under a microscope), there's several continuity goofs with cars moving position or disappearing from consecutive shots, shot-out windows after gunfights magically re-instate themselves, some characters suddenly vanish with their story threads left hanging, a few logic goofs (eg one prisoner escapes and is rescued by his "chums" at the ranch boundary but has no way of calling them to collect him). My impression is that they chopped a lot of footage to cram everything into the 6 eps, so left some bumps. They also left a few threads hanging, as if there's a third series planned. Planes for impdb: Ep2.02 Blue chopper is VH-HUL, white VH-RHQ (and a continuity goof as it magically disappears between the 2 captures) Ep 2.06 VH-NUX |

I got the impression that she was exaggerating or making things up to justify the dig. She also . -- Last edit: 2020-09-26 17:38:14 |
