I see from the IMDB that this was a Polish-Soviet co-production but I wonder where it was filmed. The Citroen DS has another Citroen behind it and there's what might be a Visa in front, suggesting that scene was filmed in France. I take it that some of the story is set in the US, but it was clearly filmed somewhere in Europe, since they seem to be using a Ford Transit to stand in for an American van. |

Pictures has been replaced (identical/similar frames except for the Jaguar) + some new vehicles. The one shot in which GS is visible is indeed from France. The scenes with Jaguar, Transit, bikes etc. are from Poland, I can't tell where sequence with Volvo F89 and Mustang was filmed, but the truck is 'Polish' (paint scheme). Original title is 'Test Pilota Pirxa', not 'Pirksa' - IMDB is wrong (same with year which is 1978 and not 1979). I recommend this movie to every fan of kitschy s.f. movies! ![]() 'Finite nonlinears' - dangerous androids/robots which looks identical with people... except that some of them haven't mouths: ![]() ![]() ![]() The spaceship of main characters ****: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This was probably filmed in someone's fatty tissue or kidneys (asteroids in movie): ![]() Probably the same model: ![]() Another Pirx's car, visible only on pictures - Chevrolet Camaro: ![]() -- Last edit: 2016-11-27 12:23:07 |

The ultra kitschy el. music of the future, to which she (and others) danced in this scene, is hard to forget. ![]() |

The street-scenes with the French cars are from France. They have all black plates and yellow lamps/bulbs. Maybe our location-specialists can find out the exact place. On one pic you can see road-signs. And maybe someone knows this horrible 1970ies concrete-block-builing in the background. The scenes with the crashed Benzes are from original crash-test-fimes, filmed by Mercedes Benz on their test range. -- Last edit: 2011-05-22 19:33:17 |

I think that keyword is ChTZ. |

Weren't they exported to other COMECON-countries? |

Well, two clues are truck, CKD-assembled in Poalnd and USSR tractor. |

This must be Crimea. Other locations have been already mentioned. The assembly of Volvo has been unconfirmed meanwhile. Though indeed there was article, which announced this in one period magazine, it in fact never happend, they were directly imported. -- Last edit: 2011-05-22 20:16:22 |

I was thinking about Crimea too. F89 were imported in SU too, but I'm unsure about color... |

Location is Soviet, but truck is from Poland - typical Pekaes livery of this period. |

Looks like something overcomplicated. |
◊ 2011-05-22 20:26 |
The Peakes truck transported equipment of the Polish part of the film crew to SU and also played a small role. |

Well, now it not looks like complicated.) |
