Rather than write a long comment I think it best to simply link to the best site I've found for this picture. I saw this movie when I was a child of six and it had a lasting impression on me. Great car chases and one of my favorite cars a 240Z! Check out the website: http://chatanuga.org/DCOTF.html Oh by the way the movie features a number of vehicles from that period please feel free to add to this database. |

i've come across a copy of this on DVD, and made some captures. the DVD was made from a tape, so the image quality ranges from pretty good to somewhat weak. this movie has an insane number of background vehicles that have merit based on having been captured in their original state and natural habitat - though not as many as you might think for a film that largely occurs in traffic simply because each and every highway scene uses many of the same background cars. these cars often reappear even after they've been destroyed in a previous scene, through the reincarnation magic of the editing room table. in the end, i didn't want to miss anything that left the movie "incomplete", but if a REAL DVD copy of this ever becomes available, there would be many images worth replacing, and many more worth capturing that didn't have enough clarity to get them this time around. i'll upload some now, and some later tonight. i'll be needing some help with the model identification, as i plan to list many of the models that other members know better than i do as "unknown" initially. i don't want to make a dart sport into a duster, and i generally can't tell those two apart. just for one example... |

This movie would've made a perfect crossover with CHiPs as the case of the "Freeway Fiddler" and his van would've made a perfect case for Jon and Ponch to solve. |
