Seems to be correct. But wide-screen does not mean bad ratio: squares should stay square as long as the resolution in pixels has the same ratio as the screen in cm.

Yes, but all I see on my laptop are deformed pictures (too wide). So I was not sure if they are correct.

Also for saved images or just in the movie? In first case you should pick another screen resolution...

 For all images and internet pages, I have tried another resolution but it's not working..

 Check in the specifications of the PC. TFT screens have a native resolution, which is the best to use.
