By the way, as the source is VHS the larger pics should be scaled down to 480x360 (I'm guessing?). I forgot to properly scale down the first few pics I uploaded for this movie. |

If this was originally aired in Canada, it would have been in 640 by 480 (NTSC) format. You probably received 768 by 576 (PAL) format. That explains why it looks artificially large. |

@ rjluna2 - it's an American movie filmed in Canada. I got the grabs from a US NTSC VHS copy (it's never been released on DVD). The resolution of VHS is far below 640x480 - more like half that. -- Last edit: 2013-11-30 18:24:48 |

Indeed, it is 483 visible line with the aspect of 4:3 ratio. which it means 644 by 483 maximum allowable resolution in NTSC. In my DVD capture, they are at 640 by 480 format. If you receive half resolution of this capture, it should be likely 320 by 240 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ntsc |

VHS res. is approx. 480x360 in digital terms - that's what I scaled most of the images down to (rightly or wrongly?). If I were to upload the images at 640x480, that would be the same as a 4:3 DVD capture, which is absurd because VHS has no where near the same resolution. The 483 maximum is just that - a maximum. It doesn't mean that the actual resolution is that. -- Last edit: 2013-11-30 19:15:05 |

Yes a small scaling down for a analogue source like VHS is often better, since it gives a cleaner picture. -- Last edit: 2013-12-02 17:29:23 |

this movie did do a lot for John Travolta, as movie romance transformed into real romance he met Kelly Preston who later became his wife truck not visible -- Last edit: 2017-03-15 23:16:40 |
