The lower grille, GMC has horizontal bars, Chevy has verticlal bars. These look vertical so I go along with this being a Chevy. Comments?? |

Even expert fans say there is almost no clue to tell a model year from another one, so saying this one is a post-war 1946 model could be seen as a guess... Heavy-duty wheel rims, and the truck seems also to have dual rear wheels and the long 160" / 4.06 m wheelbase. As 1941 model, it would be a 1½-ton Heavy-Duty with YS chassis code (MS in 1942). As 1946-47 model, it could then be a 4400 / 6400S (1½-ton) or 6400 (2-ton) truck. (See: 1941 brochure - Pdf, 28 Mb / 1942 brochure / 1946 Chevrolet Truck Data book for Chevrolet salesmen - Pdf, 357 Mb / TrucksPlanet) With the standard 1941 model year: ⇒ 1941 Chevrolet Heavy-Duty [YS]? If the 1946 MY is kept: ⇒ 1946 Chevrolet (with nothing more)? -- Last edit: 2014-12-31 01:26:27 |
