Dodgy plate and therefore date. KHK 43xN seems to be a batch of Renaults from July 75. This has strange sidelights - should be upright choc-ices on an N plate - and big mirror arms. I'd guess very late near production end (86?) to explain sideways choc-ice, maybe even a transition to AWD production to explain why no BEDFORD grille letters???

I agree about it probably being a very late Bedford TK by the sideways choc-ices, which look to have been introduced somewhere between 1981 and 1983 (the new TL had them from 1980). Removing the BEDFORD grille letters was not uncommon, some companies seemed to prefer it without.

It's a bin lorry with with crew cab. This photo is listed as "duplicate Bedford TK lorry police cars parked" so maybe 2 used.

It has a standard TK cab (driver plus 2 crew) not a crew cab.

Both our 1982 TKs (from plate dates) have upright choc-ices. Our only 1984 has sideways. So probably 1983 for changeover.

Late 1983 has some certainty from my recent searches either 'A' registered 1 August 1983 – 31 July 1984 (two examples I think) or referred to as '1983' (no plate visible).

A few 'Y' reg 1 August 1982 – 31 July 1983, all had the old style and (from memory?) an 'A' reg example also.
