On retrouve la même voiture dans "L'espion qui m'aimait" |

Ouais, mais c'était au début de mes interventions sur le site, j'étais très timide et "politiquement correct". |

Maybe we should re-name this as "Shaguar". |

Come to think of it, since the whole film was shot in the US, is this an XK-E rather than an E-Type? But it is Right-Hand-Drive, so it could be an imported E-Type. -- Last edit: 2008-03-12 20:54:00 |

While watching the movie in school, a classmate of mine and I got into a short debate. He said it was a Cobra... Klassikerbanausen... -- Last edit: 2014-04-03 10:00:13 |

As in AC Cobra? Your friend knows little about cars |
◊ 2014-04-06 20:14 |
Yes, as in AC Cobra. He also thought a Bentley VI was a Rolls-Royce. But that's just because he lives in Koenigsegg/Pagani/Veyron times and likes these kinds of cars. Interest in classic cars? Nada. |

Perhaps one of the most beautiful cars in the world. According to the Daily Telegraph, yes! Just look at that design! So Unique! |

For what it's worth. A 1967 XKE was used https://www.mecum.com/articles/the-shaguar-austin-powers-1967-jaguar/ |

i'd be ok for the year but the article keeps calling it an E-Type |

I can go for a 67 - exposed headlights, dashboard etc as seen in the mecum link. Which leads to this auction listing for Jan 2025 "Chassis 1E16504, body no. 4E8526 .. Manufactured Dec 8 1967 - originally Opalescent Silver Blue with blue convertible top and dark blue interior.... debuting in the 1997 film "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery," this E-type appeared in all 3 Austin Powers films - there was not a double car produced for these films, only this car was used in all three films ... also featured in the Madonna music video Beautiful Stranger" So far so good - apparently a normal RHD E-Type, although US white sidelights. But its pedigree might be more complicated - listed here as a US-supplied LHD in dark blue with dark blue interior, and a comment that it has S2 interior and emission features which appeared on '68 models not '67. Interior was presumably completely changed when it was switched from LHD to RHD, plus the S1.5 dash was same as S2, so not too fussed about that. Also a Dec 67-made car for US would have the Jan 68 emissions gubbins in readiness. So I'm going for 67 XK-E from its birth certificate. We've got lots of Madoona vids, but not apparently "Beautiful Stranger". |
