It is an Armbruster Stageway 'Jetaway 707 American Quality Coach' Airport Bus with the roof cut off. These Toronado-based airport shuttles were not uncommon when I was a kid. If you scroll down on this http://dcline.web25.hosting.core.com/l_s_misc.htm site, you can see what it looked like with the roof. -- Last edit: 2006-02-26 00:35:39 |

Almost correct, except the fact that Armbruster/ Stageway was not involved in the building of the Jetaway 707. The short-lived American Quality Coach Co. was formed by Waldo J. Cotner and Robert Bevington shortly after they had sold their original company Cotner/ Bevington to DIVCO-Wayne. The Jetaway 707 was their only model to be released before they ran out of money and had to close down in 1970. |

This 707 was the 6 door or 12 passenger model. I own one of the 8 door 15 passenger models. As I recal this car was included in an auction in the late 70's but it got no bids. After that I have no idea of what happend to it. Is it possable to pay real photos of this car? My car has been photographed and pictures bosted on the web. jalopnik.com/cars/novelties/now-thats-class-6+wheeled-olds-toronado-limowagon-309016.php is on of them. I think that Armbruster/Stageway may have built something that looked a lot like this for a company called Emerald Express out of San Diego. Everything I heard about it was not good. I'm always looking for others so if you have one or know of one please drop me an email at Toro68@aol.com |

I know this car or at least the one used in the movie. It was once owned by Dave Aude in Chatsworth, CA. We were friends and Dave was in a local band (circa 1990 or so). They used to pile in this car and drive around Westwood and Hollywood on the weekends promoting. Rode in it a few times. Drew TONS of people. Dave is now a famous DJ and you can find him on Facebook. I messaged him a few times about the car but he's never responded. It is possible he knows where it is or he may even still have it. -Rich |
