Best shots I can get - the green Lodekka suddenly shoots forward and blocks it. |

Albion Chieftain or Clydesdale would be long door 'cab before engine' LAD cab. Short door LAD cab as here, should be a Leyland Comet 4x2 'cab over engine'. Not sure thia is a refuse truck the extended cab looks unlikely for easy access and the body could be some other special purpose body? -- Last edit: 2017-03-18 20:36:09 |

Crew cab suggests it's used for something done by a gang. Seems single rear wheels so light payload but big volume stuff. My hunch is parks/gardens or perhaps tree-cutting - this was November and possibly a good point in the calendar to get the chainsaws out?? |

Pictures look to have twin rear wheels, I doubt any Comet had single rear as the LAD 'Vista-View' cab Comets, when introduced in late 1959, were either Comet 7-Ton (12-Ton gvw) or Super Comet 9-Ton (14-Ton gvw). johnfromstaffs, you were correct I believe about it being a dustcart. After looking to find http://www.classicrefusetrucks.com/b2/dg.html using the better images I think its possibly a Gibson Pendulum refuse truck The linkage is just visible I think. |

I was hoping it might be a Glover Webb, to bring back memories of the past. |
