I guess the choice of the main with that slogan was not a random coincidence?? |

It's the best capture available, also happens to be of the right candidate. By 1944 this 1935 slogan had become a joke, which is what the movie intends to convey here. Although his only aim was to preserve peace of course. |

We had something like this in one of those black and white documentaries not too long ago. I have an idea it might have been something from the Chrysler stable but British built. |

Best match so far is possibly this 1934 Austin Ten Van . Windscreen size however looks slightly undersize? -- Last edit: 2017-03-26 16:43:50 |

It is equally likely to be a van body built by the local undertaker and fitted to the chassis of an old saloon. My thought is that any attempts to name this vehicle are guesswork, and we don't guess, do we? |

Agreed, for what is seen. The cab to me looks to be a mixture well crafted bits (doors and roof) plus a front windscreen that is very dodgy. No door hinges to be seen plus the rear to me suggests it is a low-built saloon based van. It could also just be a temporary movie buck used only in a studio. |
