I'm thinking bar.ca might be wrong here. July 1997 and only 4000 cars - definitely an early 1998. September 1997 built 98 - 60,000 in: Link to "www.copart.com" -- Last edit: 2022-10-19 19:07:14 |

V = 1997. Vehiclehistory and autocheck confirm 1997 as well. -- Last edit: 2022-10-19 19:09:16 |

I saw the V, but thought the changeover within the VIN might have come a little later. And here's a July 1997 that's at 125,000: Link to "www.copart.com" Yet the same month we're back to 19,000: Link to "www.copart.com" -- Last edit: 2022-10-19 19:18:13 |

We had two model codes. Maybe the serial numbers correspond with those specific models. Possibly Toyota changed over the model earlier in the sequential for export markets but the US market didn't change over until later on? I cannot be certain. Here is a great site with the actual characters in the VIN matched up with the breakdown of each digit. https://vehicleidentificationnumber.com/vin-decoder/toyota-car.html |
