I don't know how to class this one, as it has no roof so can't really be listed as a convertible.![]() ![]() |

Race car? Or with the quads, as it is more like a bike with 4 wheels... |

Well, it seems that others are being listed as convertible. |

It is a genuine typed-approved road car. |

Yes but in UK you can put anything on road, so that does not count ![]() |

we could add this to the list of vehicle types, yes, but a 'spyder' defines a vehicle to still have a rudimentary convertible top without side fabric - so would remain a 'convertible' in modern parlance? |

It's described as a 'unique' vehicle on the Ariel Atom site. The Renault Sport Spider (described as a good example of a roadster on Wikipedia) is the nearest vehicle I can find - no windscreen as standard, helmet required. It's listed incorrectly on this site as a convertible too. What about 'pure roadster': that's how the equally open Smart ForTwo Crossblade is described on Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_Fortwo#Crossblade |

yeah, ok, so maybe spyder/roadster would fit as new vehicle type? Antoine what do you think? |

Is it useful to separate roadsters and convertibles? At first we had a separate class for coupé/convertible (206 CC, SLK, etc.) and a class for Targa, and both were merged with convertible as being too close. I think it is somewhat the same for roadster... Maybe it is better to just rename the category to "convertible/roadster" ? |

yes that would be best, as it covers the issue without extra work ![]() |
