This one was first registered in NZ in 2001 and then had a plate change in 2004. Probably originally badged as something else when hew in Japan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datsun_Truck#D21 -- Last edit: 2017-07-23 00:38:48 |

So the original VIN could be something like JN1UBGD21A0607779 I suspect that @Gamer has the tools to lookup that VIN..... Just for fun.... -- Last edit: 2017-07-23 23:37:33 |

Here in NZ the model name 'Truck' is not used. It is either a utility or a pickup. Should be called a Navara which would be what its owner most likely knows it as. These are usually called Navara. It would seem from the carjam evidence that the clerk who entered the info did not know what they were doing. |

maybe the guy was playing with his phone while filling the info.. ![]() |

'Nissan Datsun Truck' is definitely a JDM name. |

Sometimes the imports retained their original names but often they had their badges changed if the owners didn't like the original - as you may know there have been some really quirky ones. There are quite a few Toyota Celsiors around that have been rebadged as Lexus and I would think that this Nissan has had the same treatment to become a Navara. |

@jnglmpera (anyone who can translate Japanese) can you please let us know the Model Name in Japan? New Zealand/australia called these Navara hence the name in the search. I think in japan these were called Nissan Datsun Truck/pickup.![]() ![]() Grade searches call these Nissan Datsun Truck: https://carvx.jp/search/car?search_id=yM6TxEYdbuAK&car_id=0 https://carvx.jp/search/car?search_id=mHi3pXqrgQgC&car_id=0 Reg details showing a JDM import (also chassis number is a clear sign too): Pretty sure these are Nissan Datsun Truck: https://www.japan-partner.com/check-manufacture-year.html -- Last edit: 2020-12-17 16:49:20 |

Yep. Nissan Datsun Truck in Japan. |

They were sold as Datsun Truck, aka "Dattora". The Navara moniker was/is never used in Japan. /vehicles.php?make=Nissan&model=Datsun+Truck&modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on -- Last edit: 2020-12-17 16:59:43 |
