I am sure this is a "Camry Vienta" due to painted stripe in the grille (Camrys had black trim in the grille), as well as what look like 15" wheels (Camrys had 14" wheels). Compare with "normal" Australian Camry here: /vehicle_252354-Toyota-Camry-XV10-1993.html -- Last edit: 2020-06-12 17:09:37 |

That grille bar doesn't look painted to me. |

But it doesn't look black either. Compare it to the photo in the link I provided. In the other photo, you can't even see the bar. Also, look how small the wheels look in the other pic compared to this one (it's a bit hard to tell from this angle, though). |

I think it's just a matter of how much light is reflected, making it appear somewhat shiny compared to the other one. |

It's more than just a reflection. Black plastic is not very reflective, plus, in this scene it looks overcast - the sun doesn't even appear to be out. |

I'm sorry, I'm still doubtful. Black plastic would still allow such reflections as the one that appears in this pic. The grille bar of this one just contrasts too much in my opinion. It doesn't have to be all sunny either, for instance there always appears to be a certain amount of reflection on the plastic grille of my '87 Passat, no matter the presence or absence of direct sunlight during daytime. Not to mention, such plastic often fades with the years and becomes grey, as that of this one seems to be. However, you may be right - I can't really tell. -- Last edit: 2014-06-10 21:34:08 |

I'll be uploading in HD soon so hopefully it will help. Look at this photo here: http://pics.imcdb.org/7206/pug.jpg The Commodore on the left has 15" wheels. The Camrys wheels appear the same size. The only "normal" Camry that had 15" wheels (before the 1995 facelift) was the Ultima, which had painted mirrors - which this clearly is not. Therefore, it has to be a Camry Vienta. Update: now that we have the HD image, I hope it satisfies you by showing that the grille is not a reflection on black plastic, but is actually silver. Also there appears to be a "V6" decal below the side repeater on the front quarter panel. -- Last edit: 2017-05-23 01:28:11 |
