This is one of the first batch of 6x6 Atkinson snowplough/gritter chassis built - there had been a handful of 8x6 prototypes with a modified bow front cab. It isn't part of the Knight range, and was always built separately on the Specials line at Walton-le-Dale. The cab is a modified version of the Mk.1, but much of it is different. THis example has a 4-piece windscreen, but later versions had twin screens, although differently shaped from the Mk.1 Chassis nomenclature was originally FM1366C, but this later evolved into SP2266C.
