Land Rover have actually built this one in real life, following the model as closely as possible. http://www.shaunthesheep.com/forum/read/144/1 Even though it is clearly based on a Series 2, Land Rover stared with a 1951 80" Series 1 rolling chassis complete with all the oily bits to get the length right, and fitted a modified 2007 Defender bulkhead, modified 90 rear tub, modified Series 2 front wings, bonnet and Series 3 doors, plus a custom windscreen, and 90 truck cab. One of their biggest challenges were the wheels. The model has 6 studs instead of the usual 5, so Land Rover used modified hubs and wheel rims from the military 101FC. It is also interesting to note the full size Land Rover is fully road legal. |
