October 1945 to March 1953 Bedford-Scammell OSS 8-ton 111" wheelbase Tractor, Scammell coupling. Anybody think that could be a Perkins badge on the front or something different? |

The Griffin logo of Vauxhall Motors, derived from the heraldic crest of Falkes de Breauté, who was granted the Manor of Luton. When he married, his new wife's home in London was then called "Fawkes Hall" (Falkes' Hall), which over the years changed into "Foxhall" and finally into "Vauxhall". So when the Vauxhall Iron Works moved away from London, the new location Luton already had a connection to 'Vauxhall' and the company adopted the local heraldic crest for its badge. ![]() On examination the unknown lower badge looks circular not square and unlikely to be Parkins' diesel. -- Last edit: 2017-11-18 11:32:46 |

Yes, the Bedford Driver's Club badge is the best contender but it looks red all over; its strange to paint over it? |

But they seem to have done the same with the Bedford and Scammell badges. |

.... also the chrome on the grille. So probably the front was heavily pitted or worn including the badges so just paint the lot! |
