The car left is a Audi 60, the car right a NSU Prinz 1000. Not a TT, a TT has different trim between the front lamps. The Mercedes probably can be really that 600 Pullmann, which was owned by the Mercedes Benz-company, and which was given to the German Government as a loan, when official visitors were coming. No joke: a lot of countries had 600 in their car-fleet - but West Germany never. Watch the licence plate, when you see pictures of official visits in the 60ies an 70ies. The 600 there always have a licence-plate from Stuttgart, never from Bonn or even a government-plate. -- Last edit: 2007-06-07 01:06:53 |

I guess, for walter the Audi 60 left of the Mercedes would be more interesting. |

Exactly like the convertible Lincoln X-100 in use by John Kennedy in the early sixties. The car that he had his last ride in, was always owned by the Ford Motor Company and loaned to the US government for a ridiculous amount. Ford was among the first car companies that realised the huge impact would have to the American public the make of the White house official transporter! |
