A little small to see clearly but it appears to be a Commer Superpoise about 1955. http://ccmv.fotopic.net/p41268095.html A Commer expert my be able to identify it better. |

Commer Superpoise, 1950...although the one in pic sports a 1950s US pickup style rear, it is not original to the vehicle..it probably started out as a tipper truck..then has had this home made bed grafted onto its back when converted to a tow truck. |

Superpoise B series 25 cwt - B2524? (1956 - mid 60s). Sorry but the wellside body shown was a factory option. Page 116 in in Geoff Caverhill's excellent book "The Commer Story" shows an identical model to this, shot from the rear quarter view and the wellside is identical. My workshop manuals also show this body. The Commer Superpoise shown on the ccmv.fotopic link above is the heavier version of the B series - a B469 (4/5 tonner - 6 cyl - Humber Super Snipe based motor) This is a lighter version - 4 cyl - Humber Hawk based motor. -- Last edit: 2007-08-29 12:44:02 |
