I assume that this is either a Wolseley Oxford Hire Car (1946-55) or a pre-war Beardmore (Mk.V or Mk.VI). So far I have no images to confirm any of this. It is definitely not a Austin FX3, even though it has the same number plate as the Austin in image /vehicle_11339-Austin-FX3.html which I think is rather strange! This car gets 4 stars. |

I just had another look at the film scenes. They really switch cars and pretend they are the same!! First we have the Austin FX3, numberplate FXK355 (/vehicle_11339-Austin-FX3.html). It starts of -- cut -- next scene we see the small image above on the left (http://img6.imageshack.us/my.php?image=theladykillers09austinfx37ok.jpg). That shows, as I now found out, a Beardmore. The following take shows the Austin again. /vehicle_11346-Scammell-Scarab.html /vehicle_11347-Bedford-Type+O.html It follows the truck that will be robbed. Cut. Now its the Beardmore behind that truck! Cut. Back to the Austin. /vehicle_11341-Austin-Type+K.html Cut. And the Beardmore again. http://img6.imageshack.us/my.php?image=theladykillers18austinfx35ra.jpg For the last scene it keeps being a Beardmore! And the numberplate is clearly FXK355. (image on this page) I have never before seen such a schizophrenic car! The goofs-section in IMDb (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0048281/goofs) says that the second car is a Beardmore. Assuming that the writer is correct, we have a Beardmore Mk.V or Mk.VI of the late 1930's. I am still searching for images to confirm this. Have also a look at /movie_49470-The-man-who-knew-too-much.html |

1947 Wolseley Oxford Taxi from the script on the radiator. |

Renamed as Nuffield Oxford Taxi after discussion at /vehicle.php?id=719464 |

I like 'Wolseley' for the Oxford cab, too, for reasons mentioned elsewhere. c. 1952 Velox in background, and in front of that: M-B 170, although its front bumper suggests Ford Model C? Can't get clear focus on its radiator. |
