Agree with 2491tj as to the ID. But I get confused regarding the early cars. The make started as Swallow Sidecars, then was changed to SS Cars Ltd and finally to Jaguar. I think some of the earlier ones (like the SS 100 and maybe this one) used Jaguar as the model name and not the make name. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of Jaguar cars could give accurate dates for the various make and model names used by this company. |

The 1775.8cc engined model was actually called the 1½ Litre Saloon. It would be "SS 1½ Litre Jaguar Saloon" as already listed on IMCDb. However I cannot say I'm convinced its a SS Jaguar. Compared to those already listed, the top of the radiator is too flat, the bumper and headlights look different to me, also the shape of the windscreen top rail is too curved. /vehicle_96451-SS-11-2-Litre-Saloon-1938.html But if its not a Jaguar, what other saloon it could be I'm not sure. -- Last edit: 2007-07-11 20:47:31 |
