Looks like a Mk VI Standard Steel Saloon that has been adulterated by adding the radiator of a lesser manufacturer. |

There are only two possibilities available to us. 1) It is a Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn built between 1949 and 1952. 2) It is a Bentley MkVI onto which has been stuck a Royce radiator. The swage line along the bonnet does not match the shoulder of the radiator. There is a line indicating that the point where the bonnet joins the inner wing panel corresponds to the Bentley, not the Royce. It appears to have the Bentley wings badge on the back bumper. It is therefore quite likely that it started life as a Bentley MkVI Standard Steel Saloon, probably from the year 1952, since it appears to have twin exhausts but a small boot, and some misguided individual has tried to make it look like a Royce. It also seems to me to be RHD, causing me to query the “made for USA” comment, but that could be my faulty eyesight. -- Last edit: 2018-08-24 21:46:18 |
