Caribbean Turquoise, grey hood, whitewalls, body colour wheel paint - may well be 940 CLI - http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/ford_consul_17.jpg My example is a (1961?) Ford Consul Deluxe. Please note the rear lights which does not go all the way down to the bumper. I have never seen a Zephyr with chrome bars on the rear stem, only Consul Deluxes. Another example of a Zephyr Convertible: Link to "upload.wikimedia.org" |

OK - agreed. Not sure if this shows it better![]() but the rear detail as you say is correct and maybe as the shot swings round the plate might work for 940 CLI more convincingly than 834 DYV. I had spent ages scouring pictures of Consuls before moving on to Zephyrs ..... 940 CLI plate problematic, Irish plate now on a Nissan Sentra, issued 1984 County of Westmeath, so only on the Consul as a temporary re-registration. Another Caribbean Turquoise Mk2 1 ![]() ![]() ![]() - might have got a page if plate [xFx 43x] had been clear enough to look for a match. 1959+ Zodiac?? |

@dsl: Yes, I believe it is. Just to clarify: The Caribbean Turquoise wasn't that uncommon as a colour at the time, which means it might have had any registration plate. And it doesn't even have to have been preserved, most cars were crushed after a few years. |
