I made a capture from a video send by Keef, I guess... I do not remember, it was added long time ago. |

Story of a boy whose bar mitzvah takes place on 30 July 1966, the same day as a now largely forgotten football match at Wembley; film was intended to mark the 40th anniversary and the stadium re-opening as the New Wembley. As a film it's fluffy twaddle with a tedious lightweight plot, two-dimensional characters, and most of the comedy bits don't. But it has a lot of very precise 1966 detail to keep watching for, a good 60s soundtrack, and they've really taken the cars seriously - must be well over 100, maybe nearer 200 involved - so there's loads to watch out for throughout the film. Several things are reused a few times in different scenes, which sometimes is a shame as there's lots of interesting things which are only given blink-and-miss-it moments or unfocussed backgrounds. However some blatant numberplate witchcraft, often to disguise stuff that's newer than July 66. Rejects - something Triumph-ish, maybe Spitfire - obscured ice-cream van, 2 - something possibly Minx-ish, with the Minor van further back - Sunbeam Talbot 90 DHC (or similar version) Planes for impdb - archive footage, maybe from a real 1966 World Cup film |

And what about the numerous model kit ? Well... I'm afraid an IMPDB page could only be complete if built by someone who had really view the movie. Thanks for the effort ! |
