1968+ rear lights. Were side indicators also 68+ or a later addition?? |

1968-1973 (before burst-proof door latches). The side repeater indicators are probably fitted from 1968 with the change to separate front and integrated rear indicators. I have not found anything to confirm they were never fitted, all in-period (not restored) vehicles have them on imdb. Perhaps since the earlier roof mounded indicators had the advantage of good visibility from the side, they were always believed necessary. This taxi could be before 1970 when small square BL badges were fitted to the wings (until about 1975). However many of these taxis appear to be missing them, perhaps following wing repairs or replacement. |
