That certainly looks like his skid lid. The car is the 1952 version HWM, according to P120 of A-Z of Formula Racing Cars, by David Hodges. |

I can't find a match for Stirling in 1952 for an HWM #31. There was a #31 HWM in 1952 British GP, but driven by Lance Macklin, when Moss was in an ERA G with #12. But Stirling did drive HWM 1950-52 so lots of other possibilities - it looks a UK track for Lucas hoarding (Silverstone??), but as stands are empty maybe a test/practice session?? |
