It started it's life as an "S" model Kenworth, that's the cab and bonnet, imported into Australia by a Mr Don Cameron from Bayswater Vic. It has been buggered around quite a bit by a fella called Mick Gardener, suppose you could call it a 'hot-rodded' truck after Mick had finished with it. He kept the cab and bonnet from the old worn out 'S' model, then built up a W 900 chassis and plonked the 'S' model cab and bonnet, onto the W 900 chassis. He even shoe-horned a GM 12 V 71 motor into this abortion he had created. It went like a 'cut cat' with the 12 V 71 GM 2 stroke motor and blew the doors of lot's of real fast machines back in it's day, made 'em all look like they were stuck in first gear, he was that quick. When Mick finished the buggering around bit, he called it " Seattle Star", do a 'google', lots more pictures available. Now a lot of fools always call this buggered around jigger an 'S' model KW, when in fact it's just a W 900 KW, with the shed and nose of an old 'S' model, grafted onto a W 900 model chassis. Do a 'google' for S model Kenworths for further reading, and take notice of what shape they were, when and why they were brought out/imported into Aust ? Then do another 'google' for an S.A.R. Kenworth, find out why they were made the shape they were and when and where they were made ? More reading for those interested. http://www.kws900.com/ -- Last edit: 2019-11-24 22:45:05 |

I believe it was a Detroit Diesel 12V71 not a GM |
