It's a French-made 1972+ ( introduced at the 1971 "Salon de Paris" ) LM Sovra LM 2. |

Another one was list as just Sovra: /vehicle_66590-Sovra-LM-1.html Shouldn't both use the same make name? |

The information I found calls the make LM Sovra. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to know how contemporary French magazines called the firm, because these small makes sometimes change their names during their lives. http://bunnik.club.fr/0lms0001.htm -- Last edit: 2007-08-29 23:59:14 |

I'm owner of a LM1 since 25 years ( my first car ! ) SOVRA ( or Sovra like the Fiat affair )is the name of the factory ant LM mean Landois Michel, name of the boss. They built an LM3, sport car on beetle floorpan unshortened, and LM4 and LM5 where cabrio based on Renault 5 and Peugeot 104 Z |

From what you can see on the link, the logo also shows LM Sovra. Your car's "carte grise" names it as a LM Sovra or just Sovra? I intended to have a look at some period "L' Automobile" magazines when I had the opportunity to clarify this issue. Since you own a LM 1, the one on the site is not dated. Could you help with it? |

My carte grise is a Volkswagen with mention " type 11 modified sedan to cabrio", because I built it myself and after drive to Sovra and they approve the right modifications . But when you bought a turn key model , Sovra sometime appears on the carte grise. During his life, the body received many modifications and so it' s possible to give dates . The LM1 in " La Gifle" has the flat rear fenders , this mofification was made in 1972. For more help, e mail ? |

Thanks for your info! I saw the other Sovra models when I visited some sites that mention the make and, having the already mentioned "L' Automobile" magazine as a reference, I remembered seeing them at the time. It was only the detail of how we could correctly name the make that was puzzling me and the help from an ( interested ) owner is of great importance. |

Sort of copying Rosengart: most of their cars had LR in the model name, Lucien Rosengart. |
