It's a UK Capri? |

UK more likely as a RHD production source. UK invented the pre-facelift 3000E which became 3000 GXL after facelift; these were almost all UK-build as it was a UK engine, although a late batch were made in Cologne for Europe. Seems Kintetsu Motors were the Ford importers for J during 1970s. |

^I see, thanks for the info. At first I thought it was a German Capri, because the only other JDM Capri on this site is a German one. -- Last edit: 2019-05-02 13:17:07 |

wiki's Capri page mentions Kintetsu Motors importing Mk1 Capris as 1.6 and 2.0 GT - the 1.6 was a UK engine size as Germany was 1.5 and 1.7; both did 2.0. So seems UK supply, plus there were UK Cortina Mk3 imports at the same time. Mk2 Capris less clear for various reasons as Ford integrated UK and German designs and production more closely and increased production from Genk in Belgium with much more mixing and matching of what/where/when and where they went. wiki says the Mk2 was sold in J but not very successful - my guess would still be UK-build, so I'll switch that one |
