Yes that's right. The car was originally VOC 350, but in 1984 the owner thought to sell the number (which now graces a 1975 Chevrolet), upon which the Austin was given the unlovely age-related plate AAB 110A. Clearly an A-suffix did not suit a 1957 car at all, and following many protestations the DVLA rewrote the rules and allowed such cars to be re-registered again with something more appropriate-looking. Hence this PSY 653, which was issued by Birmingham VRO in 1996. Still a pity, though! |
