It’s either a Consul Mk1 convertible or a Zephyr ditto. If somebody with better eyesight or a bigger screen can decide which, over to them. |

Or if it's undecidable, it can be deleted. |

Very difficult to say but I think there is just a hint of a reflection in a chromed number plate light cover, 60% Zephyr / 30% Consul. ![]() |

10% Carbodies?! |

Very true, or its no use using a slide rule for addition or subtraction. I keep thinking to throw it away but I cannot. I'm finding either the software is poorer at correcting contrast in images or the laptop display screen are not so good but when I look back at some of the images 'improved' by a bit of zooming and correction I had a lot better results eight or ten years ago than now. But please don't mention eyesight or advancing years because I'm only too well aware of those! -- Last edit: 2019-07-21 12:22:19 |

I’m finding a new phenomenon now. If my age gets mentioned in conversation I’ve had the response “you don’t look it” and I think to myself “pull the other one”! |

...It's getting to the point when you first wake up in the morning and look in the mirror you don't recognise yourself. It's only happened recently but it's very disconcerting. |

I believe this to be a Consul as the Zephyr Six had a chromed botlid handle. As having overriders, but not the rear lights with reflexes, I believe it's of MY 1954 (Oct 1953 until Sept 1954). Ford never made any Convertibles themselves as they were buzy with the four door production and couldn't justify other bodies being made at the assembly line. Because of that Carbodies of Coventry made the Convertibles and Abbotts of Farnham made the Estates. Those names should also be mentioned when showing a Convertible/Estate. |
