Large side markers coupled with old, flush front bumper = 1970 to 1972. Why are we listing as 1972 instead of 1970? |

I don't know, whoever labeled it never explained why. I frequently find things with the last year of a model range listed. |

Enlarged front indicators came in 1971, separate reverse lights also, that's why I suppose '1972 MY' here. Old and new indicators to compare. We have the Checker year-by-year changes' list already. Interesting. Was not aware of the turn signal change. Am not sure about the accuracy of the side reflector information. My understanding is that reflectors were used for 1968 and 1969, with true sidemarkers being used starting with m.y. 1970 (the so-called "enlarged" side markers). The windshield glued rv mirrors and the tandem wiper pattern were a running change within the 1977 m.y rather than being introduced for 1978. I have never seen a Superba with dipped bumpers or a Marathon with straight-across ones. Would challenge readers to find such photos. The main problem is -> web sources give different information, for example with wipers. I choose 1978 MY on forum summary because you can find 1977 cars with both wipers' types.
