@kegare I think the presence of this limousine in an import catalog (= we're going to build as many of them as you want to buy), along with what I see, hints at this being an 'official' Volvo limousine, sold via the dealers network. Volvo's partner in crime for these, as well as the official funeral vehicles, was Yngve Nilssons Karosseri AB of Laholm, Sweden - the company that used the claim 'making cars longer'. Nilsson was to Volvo what Binz was for Mercedes-Benz regarding stretched chassis for a long time, even though they usually remained uncredited in Volvo publications. They almost exclusively converted Volvos at that time and they were large enough to turn out high numbers of these vehicles, which were available from pretty much every Volvo dealer in the world. I'm sure this is a Nilsson stretch. |
