Is this an 'E' plate meaning 1967? |

Yes. E plates are a funny "year" - they only ran from Jan to July 67. We've identified this vehicle using the details you provided Volvo UNKNOWN Registration number: RPF146E Body type: Estate Colour: White Date of first registration: July 1967 ✗ Untaxed Tax due: 31 October 1987 |

The British motor industry complained to the gubmint that the new calendar year plus the effect of the change on January 1st to the next new suffix letter was compressing sales into a huge rush at the year end. For once the gubmint saw sense and agreed that the new letter for the suffix should start from August 1st, to split the panic into two pieces, hence the suffix E plate only ran for seven months, and suffix F ran from Aug 1 1967 to July 31 1968. Until it changed again. -- Last edit: 2023-05-19 11:50:12 |
