It is a Ostner Rex 4 with a simplified cabin. http://www.hanomag-kurier.de/kr_0048.jpg The Rex 4 was produced from 1937 until early into the war. After the war the Ostner works, lying in the Soviet zone, was dispossessed and renamed to VEB Brand-Erbisdorf. It is very likely that these small 1 ton trucks were produced after the war, but I cannot say for how long, nor do I know if the name 'Ostner' was used again after the war. The dispossessed owner Willy Ostner started again in West-Germany in 1949 before the company was sold to FAUN in 1955. |
