Race driver is Egon Brütsch, who built the car using a 3700cc six cylinder engine from Paul Pietsch's wrecked Maserati and an extended chassis from an Alfa Romeo military vehicle. The result was also nicknamed 'Wastenrieder-Maserati' after the engineer Brütsch hired in order to complete this project. Mostly referred to as "Maserati EBS", the car is now part of the Shanghai Auto Museum collection.
