1970? With this grill and indicators I would tell 1973. |

I thought that was strange too but i checked the license plate and it says: Regnr: CFE147 Färg: SVART Fabrikat: VOLVO 1421341 T Årsmodell: 1970 Fordonsslag: PB Chassinummer: 123806 |

So 1970? |

The front (grille and indicators) and the headlests are so obviously newer than 1970 that the plate must be fake. It vote for Weasel1984's idea: 1973. |

But the 73\'s had the later tail lights right? The car could have been facelifted to look newer by someone (even though unlikely). |

Modifications like this was not uncommon in Sweden, and making them look like a 73 was also the most common when I got my license in the middle of the eighties. The 73 model was considered the best looking 140, so if you had a 69 rustbucket it was likely to transform into a 73 in those days. I know of several cars that even had the rear end replaced aswell. |

It actually must be a 1970 or earlier, because it has a windshield mounted with rubber moldings and not glue. Though it is facelifted to look like a 1973 model, but with the seats from a 240. |

Mongrel. ![]() Well, maybe the best way is to live it without model year? Somebody turns on "Google Graphics", tapes "Volvo 142 1970", see it and could think it's 1970 MY form! :X -- Last edit: 2010-04-01 01:43:51 |
