And it has almost the same meaning: Transporter No.2
With MB it is not used for counting through the generations, but T2 means it it the 'big brother' of the T1.

 600 series big van from Mercedes - 614/615/618 D. The last 2 numbers are for the motor horsepower. It looks like a double tyre axis at the back, so I would say it's a 618. The truck at the right is a MAN 8.xxx, the forklift most possibly from Jungheinrich, as it matches the typical look and painting scheme of that manufacturer.

So we could add this info to other similar Mercedes vans ? Since we do not have "W" chassis number for them I guess.

 @ antp : Yes, we could include this code for other MB trucks as well. I will look for a complete list.

@ mm : 600 is not a series, but the gross weight. The T2 model started with the 507D (5t,70hp) and ended with the 814D (8t,140hp). The follow up Atego had more powerful engines.
As I cannot tell which version it is, I intentionally left this field blank.
