late model 99 hatch. Taillight design is 1977-82. Can't remember if the USA version was called Combi or Liftback. |

They are called Wagonback. |

I'm looking at early 900 hatches and they look similar.![]() ![]() For the US, the 99 hatch was discontinued when the 900 was released, so it only lasted here until 1978. Only the 99 2-door sedan lasted in 1979-80. From 1981, it was just the 900 left. |

Actually the name was WagonBack Sedan (with a capitol B) (c) vintagesaabmanuals.org for the early 3-door cars 1974-76. You may struggle to find that name by the time the 5-door was added, by then they were simply referred to in the brochure as GL/GLE and 2/3/4/5-doors Does this have 3 or 5 doors? And, what's the 1977 change mentioned for the taillights? |

logo on the rear looks short enough to be EMS |

Could be "GLE", too. The colour could be Siena brown (#R3), available 1974-1976: http://www.saabarchive.net/images/colors/99_R3.jpg |

SAAB 900? Not sure but it could be up to @chicomarx ![]() |

No, I've stared at this picture before but I don't have the answer. elsch was saying "could be GLE", but wouldn't the badge say "900 GLE" in that case? So it would have to be the short EMS badge as Q-Ball said. |

It is a 99. The "wing" is missing for a 900 model |

The spoiler? Not all 900s had it. |

Yes, as the green one I posted above. |

The script on the right boot seems to be small enough to be SAAB 99 Wagonback? ![]() |
