Just to be sure: was there a Datsun version of this similar model ever made ? |

By the stance of the rear wheels you can see it's got a swing-axle, unlike the A35. This is a Standard Companion (which is in fact the Ten Estate) had swing-axles as well (like the Triumph Herald). Good identification DynaMike.... ![]() What was the Triumph model version, was it 'Companion' also? Would that be the normal 'export' version in the US? http://hometown.aol.com/herald1200/database/38278-7.jpg |

That's a good question. I was a bit surprised by the 'Triumph' writing on the rear... Were these Standards sold in the US as Triumph, or was it just a private 'joke'?? |

The position of the script on the rear (Triumph) matches the main picture from the movie so I guess its correct. It appears from other pictures of the Standard version the script was lower by the number-plate. ![]() source: Link to "www.motorbase.com" Interesting to note the rear door is also hinged on the other side for LHD. -- Last edit: 2007-11-19 14:50:22 |

Wow! Nice find Sunbar. I guess it's a rather rare car overthere. |

You guess right. Almost every Triumph in this hemisphere has been a convertible two-seater sports car. |

I'd never heard of this one, good work.! ![]() |
