Does DVLA use a day/month/year format, or a month/day/year format? I read that as first registration on January 9, 1979. |

Its the day/month/year format..... Tax disc is always for a complete calender month so the "date of liability" is always from the first day of any month, so 1 June 1992. Date of first registration is 1 September. It is also common, but not essential, to register on the first day of the month. |

I think in Britain they tend to put the day before the month instead of the other way round, so if 9/11 happened in Britain, it would be 11/9. |

I think that the only country in the world to use month/day/year format is the USA. All others use day/month/year or year/month/day (with differences in separators etc.) edit: it seems that there is also Canada (except official documents), Micronesia, Palau and Philipines... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_format I personally use the ISO yyyy-mm-dd, no error possible with these (that's why messages date here on the site use that format) -- Last edit: 2007-11-21 18:09:37 |

The DVLA only state year of manufacture, which in this case of course is 1979. But the suffix letter usually corresponds to the modelyear, for this one 1980. The Mk V Cortina in this film could be an example of that, introduced fall of 79 as a 1980 modelyear. All early Mk V I´ve seen so far has a V suffix not T. |
