All Simca 1100/1200, french and spanish, made between 1967 and 1970 had that kind of rear door. In Spain are quite rare, as were made even less time (only 1969-70). The rear hatch was modified to gain some luggage space, but also to avoid the rust on the lower part of the rear window, because the water used to acccumulate in that place due the design of the hatch. |

Yes, the first Simca 1200 were made by Barreiros before the Chrysler take over. But were made in a ver small numbers. They had two Barreiros badges, one in the front and other in the rear. |
