Strange fittings seen during sequence - has a dozer blade and a big scoop - not convinced they would be able to work together without obstructing each other?? |

The scoop looks to be on a four-bar linkage. It could be that the cranked upper arm holding the big scoop can be lowered by the crank turning through about 180 deg. placing it in front of the blade for actual earth removal.. |

Cannot find anything like it to compare it with. However, I agree the blade and support arms assembly have to be disengaged and dropped before the bucket could be used I think. Having the bucket in front of the blade won't work. |

Forward vision for the driver would be extremely limited ..... |

As this example without the dozer blade? Early 1950s Caterpillar Traxcavator model number I will leave to one who knows Caterpillars better. |

Yes the dozer blade is a 'home made ' add on . In later years you could specify a 4 in 1 bucket that could be a loader or dozer blade ( carry/dig were other functions). A very useful piece of kit but an expensive option. -- Last edit: 2020-07-16 22:25:44 |
